In Pursuit of Connection

In Pursuit of Connection investigates how architecture can choreograph intimacy, privacy, and restrained interaction within dense collective housing. Drawing inspiration from In the Mood for Love, the project translates the film’s themes of voyeurism, emotional tension, and proximity into three architectural motifs — Displace, Reveal, and Converge —embedded across the unit, cluster, and aggregation scales.

Three interlocking unit types are organised around shared voids to establish controlled lines of sight while remaining spatially autonomous, with privacy further modulated through varied wall conditions, vertical zoning, and differentiated entry sequences.
